This is a lovely, pale blue, natural turquoise cabochon from the Sand Hill Mine. I've bezel-set the turquoise on a deeply-oxidized sterling silver oval platform set on a 3-split wide shank. Uniquely hand forged by me, Brigitte Wilson, in my Colorado studio. My studio is named for the 7 Elements of Shibui. My creativity, work, and life are inspired by this aesthetic!
Sand Hill Turquoise stands out with its soft and pale earthy hues. It was mined in the Dashiqiao and Huangzhang areas of Xichuan (Sichuan). The small deposits were depleted in 2020.
